In what appears to be another case on honour killing, a 22-year-old Telangana woman was allegedly murdered by her parents for marrying outside her caste. The girl identified as P Anuradha was burnt alive by her parents for marrying her boyfriend of four years in a temple.
The incident took place in Kalamadugu village of Mancherial district, about 250 km from Hyderabad. Police said P Anuradha’s parents killed her with the help of their relatives, burnt the body and threw the ashes in a stream.
Telangana has seen a rise in the honour killing cases in 2018. Months back, husband of a newly married and pregnant woman was killed outside the hospital in Hyderabad by the members of the girl’s family when the couple came out of the hospital after consulting the doctor.
