A man who had burgled the South Avenue flat of a former BJP MLA in Delhi was arrested after getting stuck in his hotel room in Mumbai due to heavy rain. This gave police enough time to track his location.

The accused, Vijay Prakash Yadav (30), was an employee of the former legislator. The theft was reported on July 6. In his complaint, the victim, Rameshwar Chaurasia, said that Yadav had stolen Rs 50,000 cash and jewellery worth around Rs 4 lakh.
