In recognition of her relentless efforts to make her village open defecation-free, a 87-year-old woman who built her own toilet was honoured on Sunday.

Rakkhi, a resident of Badali village of Udhampur, who is an inspiration to many, was awarded a cheque of Rs 12000 by the Deputy Commissioner Udhampur for her endeavour towards ‘Swachh Bharat’.

In appreciation of her work, the Deputy Commissioner promised to get a ‘pucca’ toilet made at her place.
