— The decision to bring WrestleMania to Los Angeles came down to one major point that WWE and the city of Los Angeles/Inglewood had to negotiate over: whether it would be WrestleMania 37 or 38 that would be coming to this area. As noted last year and re-iterated in the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, the city wanted to host WrestleMania in 2021 at the new SoFi Stadium so that they could use it as a test-run to prepare for the Super Bowl which is scheduled to be held at the same stadium in February of 2022. WWE meanwhile wanted to push the venue out to WrestleMania 38 in the spring of 2022 – after the Super Bowl – so that they would announce a record attendance figure that would beat what the football game would generate. Obviously, the city won out there.
