WWE has posted a backstage interview with Triple H on the company’s YouTube channel. In the video, Hunter talks about his upcoming match against Randy Orton that will take place at Super ShowDown on Friday, June7.
Longtime WWE fans know that Orton got his big break as member of Evolution, the stable run by Triple H and Ric Flair, which also featured Batista. Orton and Triple H have been on opposites sides, as well as the same side, in the years since Randy’s ascension in WWE.
So now that they’re once again facing off, what does The Game think about this match?
“For me, at this point in my career, when I don’t know how many big matches I have left in me, to be able to get into the ring with someone the caliber of a Randy Orton–somebody who’s still at the top of his game, somebody that is still one of the best in-ring performers on a day-to-day basis–to step into the ring with him and test myself against somebody like that is an awesome opportunity. So, I look forward to it.”
Triple H also talked about the dream match that will take place between Goldberg and The Undertaker. Hunter has faced both men in the ring of course, so he’s no stranger to how they perform. Triple H is definitely expecting a huge bout from both legendary Superstars, but he’s leaning toward The Deadman for the win.
“When it comes to big matches and big moments, there is nobody that is better. When he is on top of his game, so to speak, there is nobody that’s better.
I have not seen Goldberg in a bit. So he also looked to be in phenomenal shape. But I think when it comes to big, epic moments and bringing a balance to that, I will give the nod to The Undertaker.”
The Undertaker cut a promo on Goldberg during the June 3 edition of Monday Night Raw. Goldberg responded to the promo on the following night’s SmackDown Live and was surprisingly interrupted by The Deadman, who stared him down in the middle of the ring. The two have not had physical contact however and it’s unknown if Super ShowDown will be a one-and-done for them as rivals.
